At which age did you start creating art? And why do you feel
compelled to create?
as long as i can remember. it just doesn't feel
right otherwise.
What are you inspired by? And who do you look up to?
so much: the
70's, 90's, my friends, witchcraft, movies, fashion, pop culture,
sissy spacek in carrie, literature, mia farrow circa rosemary's
baby, the supernatural, elizabeth peyton, the addams family, edward gorey, sketchbooks, portraiture, cherry hood, nature, warhol's
factory, monsters, shelley duvall, sharon tate, mom and dad. i could
go on
Which influential artist would you like to ask for advice?
cat power
As an
artist, are you Technical or passionate?
i'm majoring in
printmaking and it so heavily based on the technical process. at
the same time i want to make work that is passionate, haunting, and
emotional.

How do you determine when a work is finished? Or is it ever
finished?
i think when i lose interest or just can't work on it
anymore.
Do you think there are boundaries you would never cross in your art
making?
i can be really timid and safe when art is concerned but i
always want to try things that scare me and break boundaries.

Do you have any magic cures for creative blocks?
i pray to the
laverne goddess o' litho and ask her for mercy on my art work.
Which of your own works are you most proud of/ is most meaningful to
you and why?
a self portrait i did in 3rd grade.
Which art mediums
and brands do you prefer to use?
most recently i've been working
with water color and stone lithography. i always like nib pens and
this coming year i plan to work more with oil paints.
What kind of art education do you have? Do you think it is
important?
i'm a junior in art school in california. i personally
have learned and progressed so much at school. i think it's also
really helped me being surrounded by so many talented people. i
don't think it's for everyone though. i admire a lot of artists who
haven't necessarily had a formal art education ( a lot of outsider
art and little kids' art)

What kind of career do you ultimately want? And what kind of career
do you think you'll end up having (or already have) realistically?
dream scenario i would love to be able to have shows all around the
world. i want to draw, paint, print, take pictures, make movies, be in a band, and write. it is a dream of mine to publish an art book
someday. realistically i think i could go the Henry Darger route and
end up an old man secretly working on art in some attic that no one
sees until i die.
Is your family supportive of your art? Who influenced and nurtured
your creativity most?
my family is very supportive. i've had a few
wonderful teachers too. mushy.
Which direction do you see your art heading in the future?
new york city
Who are some of your heroes outside of the visual art stream?
